february's last weekend

It's MARCH.  Is it just me or is 2010 seem to be flying by?  The schedule has been jam-packed so far, and I'm anticipating the rest of the year is going to zoom by.

My aunt (mom's sister) is leaving for the Philippines tonight, after staying with my parents since October.  Bummed for my mom since my aunt is the only one on my mom's side (other than my mom, of course) to have crossed the Pacific and walked on American soil.  So back to PI she will go and regroup with the rest of the Mercado clan.  I think she might be really happy to be going back...she's the elder sister, so it must be disheartening to be so dependent on your baby sister for five months.  Haha, I'd be bummed if I was! (No offense to my little doppelganger) So to say good-bye, Francis treated our families out for lunch at Seafood Village.  Lesson learned.  No more dim sum.  Going straight for the crab...and only crab.  So delicious!

Saturday evening I had my 10-year high school reunion.  Yup...10 years have passed since I graduated from St. Lucy's Priory High School.  Well almost 10 years...we had graduated in May 2000.  It's crazy how everyone looks the same, albeit with better clothes and more knowledge on how to fix hair and makeup.  Oh, and of course, marriage and kids.  Everyone is so grown up!  But we all still know how to party, and everyone got "jiggy with it" on the dance floor.  Good times ladies!  See you all again in another 10 years for the 20th!

Since I'm on the topic of high school, it was truly an interesting time.  High school for me wasn't about partying and living it up, it was about getting through school to get to college.  That's how I was brought up and taught to think.  So it's funny when you hear the question, "Don't you wish you could go back and relive the high school years?" My answer would be a resounding "NO".  We were awkward teenage girls just trying to fit in and please our parents with good grades.  We were also disturbingly well-behaved, with our curfews and permission-asking.  But what I did take from high school are the best friends EVER.  Life would truly suck with out these women in my life, and I have St. Lucy's to thank for bringing them into my life.  ;-)

Super Bowl Weekend

Wow. I really stink at keeping this thing up to date. Well, that's the awesome procrastinator in me.  Super Bowl weekend has come and gone...and it was definitely one of the busier ones.  I got a double dose of my favorite people, so I'm not complaining.  We got a taste of "Fat Princess" (thanks Kelly!) and the Monopoly card game (intensely frightening sometimes...you people are crazy).  We got the Saints taking out the Colts with a side of Bang!  Francis played his role as Renegade far too well.  I got to sit on a bean bag with Sophie tucked under my arm as I read to her.  She read to me by pointing out the different animals in the books.  SO CUUUUUUUTE!

Seriously, we need to do this at least once a month.  Even if it's just us sitting around playing games. I'm so down for that!

INSTALLING A HUSBAND

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and
Personal Attention 6.5,
and then installed undesirable programs
such as

NBA 5.0,
NFL 3.0 and
Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and

Housecleaning 2.6
simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running
Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems,
but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind,
Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html try to download Tears 6.2
and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If those applications work as designed,
Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to

* Grumpy Silence 2.5
* Happy Hour 7.0
* or Beer 6.1

Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. This is an unsupported application and will crash Husband 1.0

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly...
You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend
Cooking 3.0 and
Hot Lingerie 7.7

Good Luck!

1st month!

one month has passed since that amazing day.  but as much fun as that day was (i'm still waiting on pictures!), it pales in comparison to all the interesting things that happens when in the actual marriage. oh the little things we can pick at. little but wonderful things! although we bought a house before we got married, we didn't live together until after, so it's been an experience to finally settle in together and learn to share...space, the garage, the kitchen, the closets, and the chores.  if you follow my twitter, there was much fun with yard work and baking the sun.  guess that's what you get when you buy a house! :)

but it's been an experience, and both of us are learning more about each other each day.  and learning to compromise.  mucho importante!! we would have strangled each other already if we didn't learn that very important word.

i'll keep posting entries every once in a while.  gotta keep you entertained with all our fun (mis)adventures.
